Cut flowers add beauty to your home.

For more information on how to grow these plants see the quick-reference growing guides in our book.

Dahlia

An easy-to-grow showy cut flower grown from tubers. Dahlias need full sun. They bloom in mid-summer through fall in a wide range of colors.

Alstroemeria

A perennial much prized as a cut flower by florists. They come in a wide range of colors including white, yellow, orange, pink, red, mauve, purple, many with speckled throats.

Rose

Roses are everyone’s favorite. They come in all shapes and sizes, from individual buds to trusses. Choose a ‘disease-resistant’ variety and deadhead roses to prolong flowering.

Lily

Spectacular lilies are grown from bulbs. For best results, pick them when the buds are just showing color and have swelled, but not opened fully. Many varieties are fragrant.

Peony

Peonies are available in a range of colors. It only takes a few of these magnificent flowers to fill a vase. Plant them in their forever home – they don’t like to be moved.

Frescia

Freesias are perennial bulbs highly prized for their intense fragrance. A bouquet of freesias will perfume a room. They do well in containers and will multiply over time
